Nevada Fish is an artist from New Jersey that uses the art of the cities around them as well as the women in their family as inspiration for their multi-media fiber art and graphic design work. Regardless of the medium or meaning, their work often stays rooted in strong color schemes and typography.
The most basic concepts become so normal to us that we don’t ever think twice about what they are and what they could be. My work sets out to examine my relationship with anything mundane and normalized no matter how pretty or ugly that may be. Whether it is an exploration of colors and grids and the fundamental rules of design, or digging into a daily experience, I seek to change the perspective and use multiple mediums to express the basics in a new light.
